was randomly wondering why 'all of us are dead' was so close to my heart. it was namra and it was the feelings suhyeok had for her. it was so otherworldly, one of the most beautiful stories I've come across.
something along the lines of "draw a monster; why is it a monster?" and "when is a monster, not a monster? oh when you love it" and all the dammit stuff about love, all the "snow at the beach" and "Lana del Rey" version of love that's such a fantasy was them, namra and hyeok. and the whole "I'll hug you tighter when you're turning, and I believe in us and trust you with my life" and "come what may, I'll be there, right by your side" and how she never once proved him wrong, however hard it was. and how every moment they were together was such an "in that moment we were infinite"
and namra, how strong, how brave, how interesting, how fucking cool.
idk what exactly stuck out to me, but it kept reminding me of that scene from 'sweet home', where that uncle hugs hyunsoo. (god that scene, will never get over it. something, no scratch that, everything about that scene was so-)
and when sae bom hugged yihyun the "it's you, it has always been you. it's your soul that I'm in love with; your heart I've found a home in and I'll hold you tighter when you're breaking" (tho this story was undeniably inspired by sweet home like sweet home but add romance and a queen to it)

bite me, not yourself [jake]
Tumblr media
After the outbreak at school, students turn into zombies that can't remember anyone, and after you save Jake, this is supposed to be your fate as well. However, you seem to be able to control yourself around him, but wouldn't dare to risk it.
➳ Characters: high school student!Jake x female reader/you
➳ Genre: all of us are dead au, high school au, zombie apocalypse au
➳ Words: 1.9k
➳ Warning: mentions of blood, death, being bitten by zombies
➳ A/N: Jake and reader's storyline isn't the same as Suhyeok and Namra's storyline from AOUAD, but Suhyeok's line 'bite me, not yourself' is said in the story as well. Plus, there are some similarities, but you don't have to know the drama to understand this story.

Tumblr media
You ran through the corridor, walls covered in smudges of blood, papers trampled upon the floor beside broken shards of glass, eerie sounds of teeth chattering and feet shuffling accompanying you as you didn’t look back.
You knew that if anyone came after you, they would risk their lives. You couldn’t let that happen, after all, you were the one they should have feared the most, you were the one they should have avoided.
You turned a corner, then another, looking for a place where you could hide, where you could lock yourself up and then… you didn’t really think about the aftermath, just that you had to get away from the others. From him.
You found an empty storage room, and closed it, turning the keys immediately. You looked around briefly, but there was no way anyone could have hid here as it was a tiny place, only two shelves opposite of each other filled with school supplies. Most of it seemed intact, but there was a bloody scissor on the floor, and you could only guess someone used it to attack a zombie. To attack someone like you…
You could hardly process the fact that you were a zombie now, there was just so much going on. Students turning into zombies or falling to their deaths, blood pooling the floors and terrifying screams filling the air, all of your senses were full of all these horrible, jarring experiences. You had tried so hard to stay away from zombies, fighting alongside your classmates and with everything you could find, barricading yourself off into classrooms, only moving from one place to another when a surge of zombies forced you to move. You had been so careful, and yet… You had willingly walked into your downfall.
You had been bitten in the corridor when you had tried to help out Jake who had been attacked by a zombie. You hadn’t even thought about anything, a tremor of fear had gone through your body at the sight of the boy being thrown to the ground. The sound of the boy’s pained winces, the way terror filled his warm, chocolate-brown eyes, and his angry grumbles filled the air had been enough for you to step in and try to tear the zombie off of him… You couldn’t have just watched him being in pain or worse, being bit… and yet, you had been bit instead of him.
Afterwards, when you had gone back to rejoice with your classmates, the boy had tried to justify that he would look after you because you had sacrificed yourself instead of him (for him), but he had been crazy to think that you would let him. Not when you had almost bit him as well, and it had been only a matter of luck that his voice had managed to bring you back to reality, to bring back your human self. Odd, you had thought that zombies didn’t recognise anyone after being bit, and yet, despite your hunger for blood, you still remembered him, his face, his voice, the way he made you feel.
That’s exactly why you had run away from them, hoping that none of them would come after you. Especially not him.
You didn’t want to think about what would happen next. You would most probably die, your memories fading into oblivion, and maybe it would be one of your classmates who would kill you when you would try to attack them. Even if you had managed to control your hunger that one time, it didn’t mean that it wouldn’t happen again, and you just couldn’t… you wouldn’t be able to live on if you had to attack them. If you even remembered who they were by that point. You didn’t even know what was scarier: the thought that you might kill them or that you might forget them.
You could hear footsteps approaching, and Jake’s voice reverberating from the walls. That fool… Zombies had excellent hearing, they would swarm the corridor like bees if they heard him shout your name like that.
Yet again, you didn’t think twice as you pushed yourself off the ground, unlocked the door and opened it, just in time for the boy to arrive in front. You grabbed him by his torn school uniform and dragged him inside, locking the door behind you before turning towards him.
Equal amounts of frustration and relief washed over you as you watched over him, no visible bite marks painting his skin. There was dried blood on his face, his hair was messy and parts of it stuck together as if glued by dirt and blood, and there were holes all over his pants and jacket, but he did look intact.
“What were you thinking, shouting my name like that? You could have been bit out there,” you reprimanded him sternly, your voice coming out strong and cold - so unlike you, so unlike the girl who had never dared to go against others or raise her voice.
“I couldn’t just let you leave like that. After all, you were bit because of me, and you said that you can control the zombie in you, and I trust you on it. I really do,” Jake justified, his voice soft as always, but there was an edge to it, a bitter one. As if he was hurt by the fact that you didn’t believe him.
You let out a long sigh, letting your shoulders drop with it, too. You ran a hand through your hair, thoughts crippling your brain like lighting on a stormy night. You could hear his heart beat due to your excellent hearing, fast and determined, and you tried to concentrate on it instead of the drops of sweat rolling down his cheek or his eyes twinkling in the late afternoon light sweeping through the burgundy-stained curtains.
“I… I wanted to bite you… I could feel it within me, I was about to do it, and then…” You gulped as the memory came back, even stronger than before. Jake looked at you, patient and gentle as ever, and you could cry out at the sight. How could he look at you like that when you had told him yet again that you had wanted to bite him? “Then, somehow this urge subsided as you called my name. It was as if I was brought back to reality, but I don’t know if I can do it again, if I can control it like that, and I don’t want to hurt you.”
Your words were less stern and more agitated than before. You took a step back, your back coming in contact with the shelf behind you, and you felt like sliding down to the ground, you could feel your knees buckling beneath you, but the zombie side of you was stronger. All of your senses seemed to heighten since being bitten, and even though you were hit by waves of weariness, you still stood strong and steady.
Then, the boy took a step closer to you, and you wanted to back away even more, but there was nowhere else you could go. You were already as close to that shelf as possible.
“You won’t,” Jake breathed out, his words firm yet soft. How, just how on Earth could he still sound like that when he had lost a friend, when he had watched his classmates die, when he had been running for his life, and when he was in front of someone who could hurt him anytime?
“How do you know that?”
“Because you’ve always been like that, you would never hurt anyone,” came the answer almost immediately, and the boy still didn’t back away. He took a step closer and another as if testing when you would stop him, giving you the chance to push him away. “You are bitten because of me, because you wanted to protect me. I won’t let you face this alone after that,” he added as he diminished the distance between you two, and he reached for your left arm.
You winced when he touched you - not because it particularly hurt, but because of the memories. Beside the fresh bite mark on your wrist, there was the imprint of the student’s teeth who had bitten you out in the corridor, who had sealed your fate. Maybe you had been stupid, after all, you were a girl, and these zombies were strong and resilient, and you shouldn’t have believed that you could ever go against a male zombie that had even caused Jake trouble. And yet… what wouldn’t you have given up for this boy?
“And if anything like that happens again, bite me, not yourself,” he whispered like a confession, a gift, a sacrifice…
So he had seen when you had bitten your own wrist instead of going for his neck as you had been craving for it. Up to this point, you still didn’t understand how your human self could resurface when you had felt this urge to bite him, especially him, because you had bitten others before, ones that had gotten in your way as you had run down the corridors, and you hadn’t felt the same way.
He gently rubbed the intact skin on your wrist as he reached for your face with his other hand, wiping the blood from your lips. Something in you crumbled at the way he willingly caressed you and touched you, risking his own life, risking his own safety beside a ticking time bomb like you, and you felt tears pricking your eyes.
“I’m so scared,” you admitted feebly and a gasp of suppressed air left your mouth, followed by a shaky sob. You were scared of everything: the whole situation, the uncertainties regarding getting out and not knowing how the city outside of the school might have looked (Were there zombies outside of the school? Was anyone out there trying to get to you, rescuing those who were still stuck at school? How many of you actually survived up until this point?), the way your body and brain changed as if it was fighting this zombie self within you, and you were scared of you and him, and whatever you had going on, and how it could possibly hurt you both.
“It’s okay. We’ll get out of here,” he shushed as he slid his hand from your face to your side and pulled you closer to him.
You sobbed into the crook of his neck, into his jacket, into his shirt, and he let you, and for the first time since the whole fiasco started, you had a tiny bit of hope planted in your heart. He was here, he was here with you after everything, and even though you had never confessed how you felt towards him, you hoped that he knew.
(And he hoped so too, because when he had asked to meet you in the empty music room, before the first zombies had broken in to interrupt you two, he had actually wanted to meet up to tell you that he liked you. But maybe now his actions spoke louder than that confession could have ever done so.)

Something to hold onto.
suhyeok x reader.
Genre: Angst? maybe
Was it really worth it, to hold such a grudge?
_____
It was another dreadful day. You woke up to find your brother Dae Su trying to get into your genshin account this morning. Luckily he didnt succeed.
'Its 5am' you groan in annoyance not wanting to go to school. After you brushed your teeth, you put on your school uniform and head straight to breakfast.
At breakfast you smack your brothers head for wanting to get into your genshin account.
"AISH..WHAT WAS THAT FOR" your brother said.
"thats for messing with my genshin account earlier" you replied annoyed. "well sorry geez.."
he said rubbing his head to ease the pain "Yah..be grateful i didnt beat you up." you then scold "yeah, yeah im sorry" he continued.
____________________________________
You arrived early with your brother perusual.
You went to your seat next to namra.
you were still confused on why people disliked her so much. She's so sweet and pretty. She might be cold at first but when you get to know her shes actually very comfortable to spend time with.
"Hi Nam-ra" you smiled at her
"Oh, hello sorry i didnt really notice you coming inside" she smiled back
"its okay"
"Hey Nam-ra did you bring any snacks today?"
you said giving her your best puppy eyes.
"Of course, I knew you'd ask" she looked in her bag to find your favourite snack.
"here."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
______________________________________
Your day was going great till he came in. Lee su hyeok. Gosh you could list what was wrong with him for hours. He is so reckless and messy. And worst of all he doesnt even wear socks to school.
You got in a bad mood by just looking at him.
He looked at you and teased you "what got you in such a bad mood there sweetheart."
his friends gave an oooooo sound.
I rolled my eyes at them "you" i said and returned to eat my snack Nam-ra gave me.
He dramatically put his hand to his heart, acting like he'd been hurt. What a sick bastard. I payed no attention to them though.
____________________________________
*Time skip to lunch*
You were walking with namra talking about the upcoming test and what questions would most likely come out.
"Nam-ra, let's study at your place? I am sure your mum wouldn't mind, since she's in a business trip anyways."
"Fine. But you have to promise me that we are really studying this time. No more outside talk, just study." She said rolling her eyes playfully.
"Yes! I promise!" You said excitedly.
You didn't really notice you were walking into a person until you bumped into someone. Embarrassed, you apoligised.
"sorr-"you said before realising who you really bumped into. Meeting his eyes, making your expression harden.
"No need to apoligize my dear" He said so smoothly, it annoyed you to the brim. With his sly, boyish grin - he thinks he's so good.
I rolled my eyes at him, not even caring to respond. Taking back my apology in silence.
Honestly the only thing that made you dislike him was what happened when you were younger.
before you started disliking him , he was actually a good friend of yours.
______
flashback
you remembered it vividly. That day he took your bracelet your sister gave you before she moved to a diffrent country across the globe. The bracelet was very dear to you because you can't really see her most of the time. She was a very kind older sister even though she could be very protective and strict, you still adored her.
How you hated him. How can someone be so cruel? your younger self thought.
"HEY GIVE IT BACK." you snapped, feeling the rage in you growing. Over the course of your childhood you weren't really a kid who would fuss about silly things, but when you were provoked - patience ran thin.
"And what are you gonna do if I dont?" he smiled smugly, acting like he had won a prize.
"This."
He whimpered once your boots met his knee, falling to the ground in pain. He then threw the bracelet into the river nearby, getting retaliation for a sort of victory that would satisfy himself.
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!" you yelled, not expecting him to do that out of all the people you knew. Kicking him was one thing you'd always had done when you'd get annoyed by his antics but this was just borderline rude.
He got up and looked at you stunned not knowing what to do. His face mixed with regret and remorse, why'd he'd done that? he wasn't even sure with himself.
You cried running into the river, to try saving the bracelet from getting washed away by the currents. It was nearly impossible to find it as it was already getting dark.
"I-" the boy stuttered not knowing what to say .
You were frustrated to think about anything, to think about what to say, what to feel, what to do. He could've done this differently, but he didn't.
"I hate you." you turned to him, your expression shown nothing less than disappointment.
you ran back home crying to your mother and your brother confused.
________________________________________ flashback end♧
You didn't want to talk to him nor see him. You turned past him ignoring his looks on you.
"why are you in such a hurry?" he questions.
"Its better if you leave us alone" Nam-ra steps in, knowing the story about the two.
"no, with all due respect, president, I need to talk to y/n." the boy said
"no?" you say getting irritated just by listening to his voice, how can one be so.. ignorant? can't he read the room?.
"How could you be so..selfish? you're messy and reckless. You can't be trusted, and you only care about yourself. Are you stupid? or are you just playing dumb? I clearly do not want to be near you. I thought I had shown you many times how I do not want anything to do with you. You're ridiculous, rude and overall ruthless. Not to mention how you joined the group of bullies, what did you do with them anyways? smoke weed? drink?. Hell who am I to ask, I could care less." you said in a fit of anger. Something you had bottled up for years.
Lee su hyeok's pov:
I was surprised to hear what they had said about me. Sure I was all of those things back then. It was clear they hadn't seen how I have already changed for the better, it was clear she didn't care if I did or not.
It hurts alot, seemingly because I had changed for them. I wanted them to see me. To notice how great I had become, how punctual I can be, how reliable, how loyal, how I really, truly, and deeply wanted them to reconsider us.
I frowned and shook my head. The disappointment I felt for them.
"You're not so better yourself. Just think about what you had done. Stop being a hypocrite. Just like me, you'd also done some things that are considered unforgivable to some."
They scoffed at what i said, it's like as if they don't know how to respond. If they don't want to fix this then there's no point in trying.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
“It’s fucking pathetic.”
“Fuck off.”
Your relationship didn’t exactly start off nicely. You hated Suhyeok, you really did. Why someone like him decided to hang out with a bunch of bullies and participate in their stupid, mindblowingly immature actions was something you couldn’t comprehend. At all. And the fact that you didn’t understand him, or that, or whatever it was you apparently couldn’t understand about him pissed him off.
So he hated you. He hated you when you threw a punch to his face for embarrassing some random boy who’d just joined the school and hadn’t done a thing. He hated you when, that day, his friends pulled you and took turns at punching you until you couldn’t properly stand. He hated you when you bled and still laughed at their face, nodding as if you’d just proven your point. They were all fucking stupid.
He hated you when you grabbed the back of his collar when he went to talk to some student his group had bullied, telling him he better not lay a hand on them or you’d punch him again, even if it meant you’d get beaten up again. He hated it because he was planning to apologize.
He hated when you kicked one of his former friends and got dragged to their “spot” to get beaten up again. He hated that when he ran over to tell them to stop, you told him to shut the fuck up. He hated that when he tried to stop them from bullying people after distancing himself from them, you said his attempts at redeeming himself were fucking pathetic. He hated it. He hated you. He hated you, and your stupid smirk and your damned, fucking superiority complex and the fact that you thought you were always right he just hated you, he really did.
And you just had to be in the same class.
“Lee Suhyeok. [full name]. You’ll be paired together for this project.”
“Proffessor Lee–”
“Wait–”
“Namra and Onjo, together.” the teacher continued, ignoring your pleas. You fell back into your chair and nodded to yourself, stifling an unamused laugh. So that was how it was going to be. You didn’t need to turn around to see Suhyeok’s gaze on you. It pissed you off.
Once the bell rung, you packed your things, grabbed your bag and left. Not even a word to your friends, nothing. In the hallways, you heard fast footsteps following close.
“[name]. Wait.”
“Go fuck yourself.”
“Just fucking wait.” Suhyeok scoffed, grabbing your arm and turning you around. “You don’t want to get a bad grade, do you? So where are we studying?”
You stared at him with no expression. “My house. Friday evening. 6PM precisely. If you’re here even just five minutes late I’m not fucking letting you in.” you said and then turned around, not leaving room for any further argument.
Suhyeok sighed as he watched you walk away, Cheongsan encouragingly patting him on the shoulder. “Want me to talk to them?”
“No.” he exhaled, “I’ll deal with this on my own. They have a reason to hate me.”
“Do you, though?”
He shook Cheongsan’s hand off his shoulder and the latter chuckled and smirked slightly.
“Later, Bare-su.”
“Yeah, yeah. Later, Cheongsan.”
And so, Friday came around. Suhyeok had to find your apartment by asking around because, whenever he tried to ask you, you were coincidentally leaving. But he found it. Somehow.
He sighed as he went to knock on the door. 5:59PM. He waited a little, hesitating, before knocking. There was silence, for a bit, before he heard you walk over to the door. “Who’s this?”
“Who else could it be at 6PM precisely with not even five minutes late or you wouldn’t fucking let me in?”
“I asked who you are, not a fucking copy and paste of what I said.”
“... Lee Suhyeok.”
You swung the door open. “Now that I’m seeing you I want to let you in even less.” you stated, walking away nevertheless. He carefully closed the door and sighed. This was going to be hard.
Your room was very you. Every piece of decor or poster or picture or abandoned, dusty music instrument was incredibly you. Suhyeok hated that he felt like he knew you because you spent so much time together. Hating each other. You sat on your desk’s chair and crossed a leg over the other.
“Are you gonna make me sit on the floor while you take the chair?” Suhyeok asked, despite already sitting down. You raised your eyebrows as you turned pages of your textbook.
“Clearly.”
“How nice.”
“You better keep your mouth shut unless it’s to contribute to the project or I’m kicking you out.” you said, smile tight and wavering, looking him in the eye. He raised his eyebrows and did a zipping motion over his lips. You sighed, gaze averting back to your textbook.
Strangely, he was pretty silent. He didn’t try to annoy you or anything of the sort while you studied. He actually tried to study to. And even more strangely, you didn’t actually expect him to do otherwise. Part of you knew he had really changed. You’d seen him apologize. You’d seen the way he acted now. You’d seen him stop his former group of friends because he knew he was one of the few people who could do it. You’d seen him. You hated it. Now he was proving you wrong.
“Can I talk about something non-work-related?”
You kept silent for a bit, finishing up your essay before tossing it aside and crossing your arms. “Go ahead.”
“I’m sorry.”
You stayed silent and your back was facing him. He had no way to tell what you were thinking, or even how you felt. It was nerve-wracking. Then you turned around in your chair. Your face was blank– Which, in itself, didn’t help much in figuring out how you felt, but it did help him cross out a few possibilities. Angry was a no. Annoyed was a no. There was no scoff, no eye-roll, no smirk, no annoyance on your features. You licked your lips out of habit and his gaze landed there, before he averted it to somewhere else– Anywhere else.
His stomach hurt.
“What are you sorry for?” you asked. You were calm.
“For not stopping earlier. And for not putting a stop to the fights before.”
You got up. It was intimidating. He looked up at you and gulped.
“I insulted you when you tried to stop them.”
“That doesn’t mean it was okay for me not to do it before.”
You stared at eachother and he got up to face you.
“I don’t mind if you don’t accept my apologies, I get it. But I mean it. I’m sorry.” he said. You looked at him like you were analyzing his face, scanning it with your gaze in its entirety before returning to his eyes. You raised your eyebrows.
“You mean it.”
Only when you spoke did Suhyeok realize how close you two were since he got up. Your chests were practically touching. He nodded. “I mean it.”
“Okay.” you said, smiling tightly. “Is that all?”
“It’s not.” he hurried, “I’m sorry for hating you.”
“You hated me?”
“I did.”
“Why?” you scoffed. “I had reasons to hate you. You didn’t.”
“That’s why I’m apologizing.”
“It is?”
“It is!” he said a bit more loudly, instinctively taking a step forward. Now your faces were inches apart. You didn’t try to move away. “I hated you for being right because I didn’t want you to be. You were right when you said I was pathetic. You were always right and it pissed me off because you weren’t supposed to be. So I hated you.”
You smirked, this time, tilting your head, gaze never leaving his. “And what about now? Hm?” you asked, seemingly irritated. Suhyeok's head felt fuzzy. He couldn't decipher what your expression meant. He hated it.
He chewed on the inside of his bottom lip, the words right there at the tip of his tongue.
“And now.” he stopped.
“And now?”
A beat passed.
“I like you and I’m sorry that I do.”
“Go fuck yourself.”
“I know.”
You grabbed his jaw and pulled him an inch closer, just enough so his lips would be on yours. He closed his eyes, brows furrowed as his fingers twitched at his sides. What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? His hands slowly moved up to grab your waist but you pulled away.
“Then hate me for that, too.”
“I won’t.”
“Fuck you.”
“I know.”
You hated him because in the way he looked at you he told you he knew you liked him. You hated it. Because he was right. You hated him. You didn't. Not anymore, at least.

hi I had an idea, how about Y/n being jealous of Suhyeok with Namra or Onjo (ps. Suhyeok and Y/n are dating) can be Soft+hot but if you don’t want you don’t need to do Hot

He was so perfect. Too perfect. He treated you so well, treats you like he actually cares, not many people cared. You were so hung up on him you believed everything he told you. The talking stage before you guys were even official was like a dream. He would always made sure you ate, if you did your homework, took a shower.
He made you feel special. A type of special you didn’t think most people could make you feel.
“Suhyeok!” Y/n beamed at him with a huge grin on her face. He looked down on her with half a smile his smile use to be brighter when he was with her. “Good morning Y/n.” he said all nervously, but kept looking up and around the classroom like he was looking for someone.
What happened to good morning love?
“Are you looking for anyone?” She said also looking for what he was. His eyes went slightly wide and his head snapped down to look at her. “Uh no no it’s fine.. how was your sleep?” He said trying to change the topic, but had a hue of pink across his face while looking down at her.
But yet still glancing up every once awhile.
Then he stopped when Namra walked in. Y/n always thought she was one of the prettiest girls she had ever seen. With her long hair, and pretty name. Not to mention she was smart, really smart. Suhyeok’s face was taken over with a geeky smile.
She cocked her eyebrow at the sight. She stopped talking when she realized, her shoulders dropped. And she walked over to her seat with Gyeong-su. Not speaking to many people but giving them a one word answer.
So many thoughts were running through her head. But the big and huge question that ran through her mind.
She looked up only to see him staring at Namra. And he gave her the thumbs up. What.
She would just ask him at lunch probably only to see him talking to her alone around the corner. She thought it was time to.. investigate. Because he would never cheat on you so what was he doing. What is he up to? He would never cheat. Would he..? Nooo he would never.
At lunch Y/n would glance over to Namra then Suhyeok. They weren’t sitting at the same table though. I-sak saw her glancing at the two of the back in fourth. “Why are you looking at the two of them”
“I think he’s cheating don’t know for sure, and I don’t want to assume anything yet. But if I’m right, I need to catch him in the act first before I do assume anything.” you said eating your veggies. “You think he’s.. WHAT” she said screaming loud enough for France to hear. All eyes were on us now. “Dammit I-sak sit your ass down.” you scolded her.
“Sorry sorry.” she said throwing her hands up in defense and taking a seat. “We could help you catch him.” On-jo said joining our conversation. “Ok then the three of us will have to see what’s going on. If he’s not cheating I’ll still be confused because why isn’t he even talking to me?”
Ever since that day he had become distant, because he would always be hanging out with Cheong-san, Gyeong-su, or anyone but you. You knew he was hanging out with her. You were a bit jealous. But had too much to worry about to admit it.
You rung him a fair amount of times. Two times, to be exact.
Hey beautiful I can’t talk rn doing something important i’ll make sure to call you later i promise :))
read at 8:32pm
Well he said it was important. But you couldn’t help be feel lonely. And doubting yourself even more because what if he actually was cheating? Nothing sleeping won’t fix. If you’re sleeping you won’t think, if you sleep you don’t assume the worst.
At school you saw him sneak off with her around the school. You could feel you face getting hot and water started to swell up but you refused to let them fall. Follow them.
Walking over to the corner Namra came now close to crashing into you. She froze and her eyes went wide “oh Y/n it’s good to see you but I must go.” She said remaining calm and scurrying away rather quickly. Biting your tongue to control yourself from yelling and causing a scene Suhyeok was in front of you his face was red. “y/n you should’ve told me you were coming over here.”
He felt a harsh slap across his face. “Fuck you.” you spit it walking away but was stopped by him grasping your arm. “Wait please I know exactly what you’re thinking and I’m not cheating I swear.” “Well then what the fuck are you doing?” you spoke with a voice crack. The type of voice crack that you make when you’re about to cry. Then there it goes hot tears streaming down your face.
“You’ve been with her for the past fucking days when you said you were with you friends. Not only are you a cheater but also a liar. If you didn’t want to be with me you could’ve just said it” “No baby, that’s not what was going on I promise. You have to believe me.” he grabbed your face wiping the tears off you face. But he was pushed away by you “Don’t touch me and don’t call me that. I don’t believe you.”
“Y/n I needed help with your present.” this automatically caught you off guard. “Huh” “Your birthday is saturday.. And I need help working on your present and surprise because I want to get you something special, so I needed her help.” you were floored not knowing what to say.
“You’ve been ditching me for her you could’ve at least hung out with me when I asked whether it was for a present or not.” “So you were jealous?” he said poking you over and over with a smile on his face. “I’m not jealous.” he squinted his eyes at you with an unamused look. “Stop fucking looking at me like that.”
“Y/n stop being stubborn for two seconds.” “..maybe a little” you said kicking him in the shin. He didn’t even care he started poking at you over and over trying to get a smile out.
“Oh fuck off. I’m still mad at you.”
He laughed a bit grabbing you close into a tight hug.
“I’ll make it up to you love, I promise” with a kiss on the top of your head. “Oh really how?” you said laying your head on his chest. “Well your birthday is saturday. And it’s friday. That means you get your surprise and present”
“Fine.”
You were alerted with a couple knocks on your window. It was 12 am on a saturday. Near shaken out of your sleepy state you her your phone go off.
wakey wakey
Read at 12:08
Of course. Opening up the window and seeing Suhyeok on the other side with a basket, and many bags.
“You can come in.” you said with a soft smile.
As soon as he walked through your door and place the bags down almost immediately. Being the nosy one you are you tried to look at a bag before he could see.
“HEY WAIT.” you were caught. “Sorry” you said with a sheepish smile. “I brought your favorites.” he said opening up the basket and sitting on the bed. “Chocolate strawberries, chocolate pretzels, sushi, and chicken from Cheong-sans restaurant” he said pulling the stuff out one by one.
Looking up for an approving smile from you, you ended up crushing him into a big hug. “Thank you.” “I haven’t even gave you a present yet”.
After a few minutes of presents he pulled out a small box. “uhm this one is very special and i really hope you love it.” the box reveals a ring. A beautiful one at that. “Suhyeok we’re too young to get married you know.” trying to break the silence with an awful joke.
“no dumbass. It’s a promise ring and matching ring.” he said pulling a chain from underneath his shirt to show his too. “It’s beautiful. Thank you.” slipping it onto your finger, and connecting his lips to yours.
Which ended up with you on his lap. Pulling away to catch each other’s breath you kept looking at your rings. “I love them, thank you.” “I’m happy you do.. Namra helped me pick them out.” the smile on your face dropped.
“Did you have to bring her up?” “YOU’RE STILL JEALOUS?” shoving his arm and rolling your eyes “just shut up.”
He laughed loudly. “Ah y/n i love you so much.”

Suhyeok x pregnant reader (Part 2)
Sorry for the late update I've been very busy.
This was a bit rushed sorry
_______________________
You and your group stayed in that room for 2 days. You are currently seated at the corner feeding your child while the others are making a makeshift barricade which you will use later.
You wanted to help them but they told you to just take a rest since you've just given birth a few days ago and considering that you were going to go out of this room, you will surely need to have a lot of energy.
You glance at the baby girl that your holding. You and Suhyeok decided to name her Kyungmi which means honor and beauty . Kyungmi finished eating you smiled when she yawned cutely. She was the prettiest girl that you've ever seen. You were too mesmerized by your daughter that you didn't notice Suhyeok coming over you.
"Hi. She's sleeping already?" You looked at him and smile.
"yeah. She's so pretty." Suhyeok totally agrees with you. You give him the baby
"Let's make a promise." Suhyeok raises his brows.
"what promise?" He asks softly.
"no matter what happens to both of us make sure to keep our Kyungmi safe." Suhyeok smiles at you and give you a kiss.
"I don't need to promise because I will surely keep you both safe. I'm the head of the family right?" You nodded while smiling .
Family, you like no scratch that you Love the idea of that. You and him together with your daughter, it makes you smile.
You suddenly hug Suhyeok which surprised him. Tears started to fall from your eyes, you just can't contain the joy inside you.
" I know that I'm handsome, no need to hug me that tight." He jokingly said to you which makes you laugh.
Namra suddenly walks to you, you smiled at her.
"Want to hold her?" You ask the girl in front of you.
"can I? I didn't get the chance to hold her since a lot of people wanted to hold her" You smiled and ask Suhyeok to give your daughter to Namra in which he gladly do.
You laughed a little when you saw Namra holds the baby in an awkward manner meanwhile Suhyeok was worried as hell if the baby will fall from her grasp but was soon replaced with a relief when you helped her carry Kyungmi properly.
"Namra" you called her, she looks at you.
"when everything goes back to normal I want you to be her godmother." She smiled at you.
" we made a promise since we were young idiot. You don't need to ask, I would gladly be her godmother." You suddenly remember the promise that you both made when you were still young, that the both of you will be the godmother of your child.
"by the way happy anniversary best friend, cheers to 13 years of friendship." Namra added.
"happy anniversary bestie hahaha." Your moment was cut off by Onjo telling the three of you that it was time to go.
Namra gave you your daughter. You went to the rest of the group, Joonyong stated out the plans.
"Y/n since you have a baby it will be better to just stay in the middle. Just let us do the rest of the work. Make sure to keep you and the baby safe. Please don't think that you're a burden to this group, you're totally not." You nodded and smiled. You were grateful that you were surrounded by a thoughtful people, if it was in another group they would surely kick you out thinking that you're a burden to them.
You were now formed inside the barricade. You take a deep breath, you hold your daughter tight to make sure that she would not fall.
The next thing you knew you were already fighting the zombies. You teared up when Joonyong sacrificed himself, you held yoyr baby tighter. You where now in front of the door but Onjo can't open it, suddenly the door opened revealing Onjo's father she immediately hug him. You sighed at the sight of him, you were relieved that someone came to save all of you.
Everybody finally gets out. You were in front of Onjo's father.
"Uncle have you seen my parents?" You asked him, he looked at you and notice that you were holding a child.
"Yeah I've seen them. They're safe, don't worry. By the way who's kid is that?" He asked you curiously. You were relieved to know that you're parents were safe.
"Mine." You answered him. He was about to say something but the zombies where already near your group. All of you run faster. All of you where now outside the tennis court. Onjo's father was bitten so he decided to sacrifice his self.
You were sadden at the fact that some of the people you love are dying. They keep dragging Onjo but she won't budge.
They successfully drag Onjo away from the tennis court.
(skip the fight between Cheongsan and Gwinam 'cause I'm running out of time.)
Many things happen ever since all of you departed from the school. Cheongsan was killed because of Gwinam, Wujin sacrificed himself and Namra almost bit you, she was so guilty so she decided to run away. You, Suhyeok, and Onjo where finding her but it seems that she already went back to the school.
Tears started to fall out of your eyes. Suhyeok went beside you and hug you. He guides you towards the group along with Onjo.
You all were walking in the railway, you spot the soldiers guarding the entrance. Everybody raises their hands except you because you were holding Kyungmi.
"They're survivors. One is carrying a baby." One soldier said on his radio.
All of you where guided by the guards.
You where now in the camp. You badly want to see your parents but you're still in quarantine, you were glad that Suhyeok was quarantined with you along with your daughter or else you would go insane.
Suhyeok was carrying Kyungmi, he was trying to make her sleep by humming a song.
Kyungmi looks at him and give him a giggle making him laugh.
"I told to you to sleep but why are you smiling." He said making you laugh a little.
Suhyeok looks at you.
" after our quarantine, let's find your parents so that they can meet our little dumpling." He said while bumping his nose to Kyungmi's own.
"Dumpling? You already made a nickname for her. I'm gonna call her sunshine."
Your quarantine were now over so you and Suhyeok were on your way to find your parents. It was a bit hard considering that there are many people in there. But you finally found them.
"I'm glad that you two are safe." You said to your parents while hugging them. You glanced at Suhyeok who was holding your daughter and smiled.
"I would like to tell you something. First of all, I am very sorry. I didn't know that this would happen." Your parents look at you confused.
"Suhyeok." You called him. He came near you holding Kyungmi.
"I want you to meet your granddaughter." You were nervous. Your parents were silent, suddenly smile started to appear from them. You sighed in relief.
They were very eager to carry Kyungmi. Your parents were really happy.
It was night time, it was just you and your boyfriend. Kyungmi was with your parents, they insist to spend time with their granddaughter.
You were hugging Suhyeok. He was humming a song you didn't know but it was melodious. Your eyes started to fall and soon you were already asleep.
Suhyeok looks at your sleeping figure. He smiled and gives you a kiss.
He couldn't be more happy.
End...

▎  MAGIC SHOP,  ft. choi namra
pairing, gn! reader.. magic realism. genre, fluff. setting, non-apocalyptic. warning, adie spiraling just from one photo.. note, this can be read as a standalone or part two to this! @kimsohn and anon, this is for you ♥️
Tumblr media
“you should be heading home soon.” namra comments, the subtle scent of disappointment dabbed on her words.
you hum; a sound of agreement. but with the way your fingers continue to thread themselves between her silky tresses, you’re not keen on the idea. besides, your house doesn’t provide the solace that namra offers.
she tilts her head up, seeking your reaction. you don’t skip a beat and offer, “ten more minutes, okay?”
“nothing more, nothing less?”
“it sounds like you want me to stay.” her nose scrunches, only to relax once you boop it. “i’m kidding, nana. i’d never intrude on your thoughts without your permission.”
and it’s true. when it comes to the angel whose head is cradled on your chest, legs tangled beneath the blanket that suhyeok’s partner had crocheted for namra’s birthday, her inner voice has never stood at the forefront of your mind. not for lack of trying, but as a symbol of trust.
there’s a new song playing on her laptop; its soft melody filling the room. it’s a piano cover, yet you still recognize the title and artist.
how could you not? after discovering bts was namra’s favorite artist, you listened to their songs over and over again until you swear you could sing the tracks in your sleep.
the chorus plays, yet it’s not her humming that joins along. instead, she shuffles up to rest her head next to yours and lay a question over the soothing melody. “if i did want you to stay a little longer, would you do it?”
it doesn’t require much thought. still, you take your time by rolling onto your side to face her properly. with one hand caressing her cheek, you kiss her forehead. there’s barely inches left between the two of you as you whisper, “for you, nana, i’d stay forever.”
content with your answer, she shifts closer to you and closes her eyes. you tap her side, giddy when she settles your arm around her waist. once again, your fingers dance along her back, mindlessly gliding across the ivory cotton.
and though you don’t mean to, not this quickly, you end up falling asleep. hopefully ms. choi doesn’t mind you staying for the night.
(she doesn’t, really—not after she accidentally walks in on your sleeping figures and catches the smile on her daughter’s face while she dreams of good things. the middle-aged woman knows you’re the reason behind it and frankly speaking, she too hopes the two of you will always be together.)

determination had fueled their attempt to break into the 'instrument room', but now, defeat settled in. daesu slumped against the unyielding door, his breath escaping in a frustrated sigh. "shit, it's no use." joonyeong's voice broke the silence, his stomach growling in protest. "i'm starving," he said, dropping into the chair beside daesu. the two groups sat in a face-off, a circle of chairs on either side of the room. namra positioned herself by the doors, ever vigilant, with suhyeok at her side. earlier, she had given him permission to intervene if necessary, but a reassuring word from you had eased her concerns. for now, everything was settling.
you crouched down, your eyes scanned the drawers beneath the chalkboard, searching for anything of value. your stomach growled, a gentle reminder of your hunger. you hoped to stumble upon something edible, but the first drawer revealed only a knotted mess of wires and extra outlet boxes. undeterred, you methodically explored each drawer, your fingers tracing the contours of the tangled cords, your mind focused on the task at hand. the silence was punctuated only by the soft creak of the drawers as you opened and closed them, your search fueled by a glimmer of hope.
suhyeok's gaze lingered on you, his eyes fixed from a short distance away. positioned strategically, he was close enough to offer assistance if needed, yet also within reach of namra, ready to intervene if the situation took a turn. his thoughts, however, drifted to a different time and place - the school hallways, where you had once been a fleeting presence, a whisper of a person, barely perceptible. your quiet nature had allowed you to blend into the shadows, your existence slowly fading from notice. but now, suhyeok's mind was consumed by the weight of a shared past, a dreadful day that had left an indelible mark. he couldn't help but wonder how he would ever find the courage to face you again, to reconcile the ghosts of your shared history.
as you took the smooth wires from the drawer, your gaze drifted to the right, drawn to namra's fixed stare on the door beside her. her intensity was noticeable, and you felt an inexplicable pang of unease. your eyes darted back to the wires, then returned to namra, your mind weighing a suggestion that instantly felt wrong. something about it seemed cruel, inhumane. sensing her awareness of your gaze, you quickly looked away, feeling a flush rise to your cheeks. instead, you tucked the wire into your pants pocket, thinking it might prove useful someday. the gesture was a distraction from the uncomfortable moment, a way to shift your focus away from the unspoken tension.
as you rummaged through the adjacent cupboard, a treasure trove of guitar picks and sheet music lay before you, a seemingly endless supply. suddenly, a presence materialized beside you, and you turned to find suhyeok squatting next to you, his arms crossed over his knees. his face was a mask of solemnity, his gaze piercing as he looked at you. for a moment, you locked eyes with him, drowning in the depths of his dark caramel irises. then, you broke away, your focus returning to the cupboard's contents as you continued to dig through the clutter, the silence between you thick with unspoken emotions.
suhyeok's eyes remained fixed on yours, his gaze burning with an unspoken desire to connect, to bridge the gap that had grown between you. he wanted to talk to you, to ask how you were, to know what you were thinking, but the words caught in his throat like dry leaves. his mind was a jumble of emotions, a tangled web of regret, concern, and longing. he shifted his weight, his eyes darting to the floor, then back to yours, searching for a spark, a hint of what to say. the silence stretched out, a canvas waiting to be filled with words, but suhyeok's brush remained poised, unsure of where to begin. he cleared his throat, a faint sound, a prelude to speech, but still, the words wouldn't come, frozen in his chest like winter's snow.
you pushed the cupboard door shut, the soft click echoing through the room, a punctuation mark to your fruitless search. standing up, you stretched your arms over your head, arching your back in a gentle stretch. as you turned to move on to the next cupboard, your path was blocked by suhyeok's crouched form. he remained frozen, his eyes still fixed on your prior form, his expression a mixture of longing and uncertainty. his position, though unintentional, was a physical manifestation of the emotional barrier between you. you hesitated, unsure of how to navigate this unexpected obstacle. suhyeok, sensing your pause, slowly rose to his feet, his movements slow but fluid. his eyes try to meet yours, his gaze a gentle plea for connection, for understanding. the air was thick with unspoken words, the silence, a breathing entity that pulsed with unease.
as suhyeok shifted out of the way, you continued your search, moving downwards to the next cupboard. the door creaked softly as you opened it, revealing a neatly stacked array of small boxes, each adorned with labels in precise handwriting. curiosity piqued, you began to remove the boxes one by one, placing them down beside you on either side, creating a small assembly line of mysterious containers. the labels read like an odd inventory: "winter songs", "forgotten songs", "popular melodies", and "drafts". the boxes themselves were brown, their lids closed with a tiny click. as you arranged them, the silence between you and suhyeok remained, but your focus on the task at hand created a sense of purpose, a distraction.
suhyeok squatted beside you once more, his movements quiet as he positioned himself closer than before. his eyes fixed on the boxes, and he began to pick them up one by one, examining their contents with an air of curiosity. you didn't acknowledge him, your focus still on the cupboard's depths, but you were aware of his proximity, his shoulder almost touching yours. as he delved into the boxes, a faint rustling sound filled the air, accompanied by the occasional soft whisper of surprise. meanwhile, your hand closed around something unexpected in the back of the drawer - a hammer, its handle worn, its head heavy with use. you pulled it out, the tool feeling solid in your grasp, a contrast to the delicate boxes and their mysterious contents. suhyeok's gaze remained fixed on the box in his hands, but you sensed his awareness of the hammer, his attention piqued by the unexpected discovery.
suhyeok's fingers unfolded the paper he found in the box labeled ‘drafts’, his eyes scanning the contents with a mix of curiosity and reverence. as he read, his expression transformed, a softness creeping into his features. the paper was a letter, but not just any letter - it was a song, the words dancing across the page in a harmony of apology and longing. music notes were scribbled in the margins, a melancholic melody that seemed to match the rhythm of suhyeok's heartbeat. his voice, barely above a whisper, began to recite the words, the lyrics pouring out like a gentle stream:
"in the silence, i hear your voice
a whispered sorrow, a heartfelt choice
to let go, to move on, to find
a way to heal, to leave the past behind"
as he read, the words seemed to take on a life of their own, filling the space between you with a sense of yearning. the apology was raw, honest, and beautiful, a poignant expression of regret and hope. suhyeok's eyes never left the paper, but you sensed his gaze reaching out to you, his heart speaking directly to yours. the hammer in your hand felt heavy, a tangible weight compared to the ethereal beauty of the song. the moment hung suspended, a delicate balance of emotions, as suhyeok's voice faded into the silence, leaving only the echoes of the apology.
you rose to your feet, your focus swiftly shifting away from suhyeok and the emotional intensity of the moment. the hammer, still clutched in your hand, seemed to grow heavier as you walked towards the desk, its surface a blur of wood and scattered papers. with a quiet thud, you placed the hammer down, the sound a punctuation mark to your deliberate dismissal of the tender moment. the desk's edge was cool beneath your fingertips, a stark contrast to the warmth of suhyeok's words, still lingering in the air like a gentle breeze. you didn't look back, your gaze fixed on some invisible point beyond the desk, as if willing yourself to move forward, to leave the vulnerability of the moment behind.
as you stood there, lost in thought, your gaze drifted upward, and you noticed jimin sitting in a corner of the room, her eyes fixed on a small video camera she had discovered. the camera's lens was pointed at her face, and she was speaking in a soft, introspective tone, as if sharing secrets with an old friend. her words were directed at the camera, but they seemed to be meant for whoever might find the video in the future. "to whoever is watching this," she began, her voice barely above a whisper, "i hope you're doing okay. i hope you're finding what you're looking for." she paused, collecting her thoughts before continuing. "i'm leaving this here in case...in case things don't work out. in case i'm not around to explain myself." her eyes dropped, her gaze falling to the floor as she struggled to find the right words. "i just want you to know that i tried. i tried to make things right, to fix what was broken." the camera captured every nuance of her expression, every tremble of her lip, as she spoke from the heart. you watched, transfixed, as jimin's words hung in the air, a message in a bottle, cast into the unknown.
jimin's eyes flashed with a hint of determination, her voice taking on a slightly harder edge as she continued speaking to the camera. "if you're watching this, and you're one of those who left us here...who abandoned us without looking back..." her words trailed off, as if she was collecting her thoughts, choosing them carefully. "i want you to know that i remember. we all remember. and i hope...i hope that someday, somehow, you'll face the consequences of what you did." her gaze seemed to bore into the lens, as if she could see the faces of those who had wronged her and the others. "punish them," she whispered, her voice dripping with a quiet intensity. "punish them for leaving us to rot in this place. punish them for not coming back for us." the camera captured the raw emotion on her face, the pain and the anger, as she spoke words that seemed to be torn from the very depths of her soul.
while jimin's words faded away, hroryeong gently took the video camera from her hand, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. she turned the camera towards herself, the lens focusing on her face as she began to speak in a soft, trembling voice. "mom...dad..." she whispered, as if the camera was a portal to the past, a way to reach the parents she had lost. "i'm sorry...i'm so sorry..." tears began to well up in her eyes, her voice cracking with emotion as she spoke to the camera as if it were her parents. "i remember the way you used to smile at me...the way you used to hold my hand. i remember everything." her gaze dropped, her eyes fixed on some point beyond the camera, lost in memories. "i wish you were here...i wish you could see me now. i wish you could tell me everything is going to be okay." the camera captured every tear, every quiver of her lip, as hroryeong poured out her heart to the absent parents, her words a poignant expression of love, loss, and longing.
you couldn't bear to watch anymore, the emotions raw and overwhelming. you turned away from the group, your gaze falling upon the last drawer, still unopened. your hand reached out, almost mechanically, and pulled it open. the contents were shrouded in darkness, a mystery waiting to be uncovered. as you peered into the drawer, the sounds of the group's confessions, their last words to the world, faded into the background. you felt a sense of detachment, as if you were observing yourself from afar, going through the motions. the drawer's interior revealed a blank empty cupboard. staring at it in defeat, you sigh and stand up with a small curse, “shit.”
you stood there, lost in thought, until suhyeok approached you once more, his footsteps quiet on the dusty floor. he stood beside you, his eyes fixed on the empty drawer, before turning to face you. his gaze was soft, his voice barely above a whisper, as he finally spoke to you. "i'm sorry," he said, his words simple, yet profound. "i'm sorry for not being able to save you." his eyes searched yours, as if seeking forgiveness, understanding. the air between you seemed to vibrate with tension, the weight of unspoken emotions, as suhyeok's words hung in the balance, waiting for your response.
suhyeok's voice cut through the silence, his words a gentle plea. "i need you to understand," he said, his tone soft, yet urgent. "i know i made a mistake. i know i let you down." he took a step forward, his eyes locked on yours, searching for a glimmer of forgiveness. "i was scared, ...but that's no excuse." his voice cracked, a hint of emotion seeping through. you scoff, “you were scared, huh?” you look away. "i should have been stronger, i should have been there for you." he paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "i know i can't undo what's been done...but i need you to know that i regret it. i regret not being able to protect you." his words hung in the air, a heartfelt confession, a desperate attempt to bridge the gap between you. the silence that followed was heavy with tension, as if the very fate of your relationship hung in the balance, waiting for your response.
you shook your head, a slow, deliberate motion, as if trying to clear the words from your mind. "stop," you said, your voice firm, but barely above a whisper. "just stop." you raised a hand, a clear gesture of dismissal, as if trying to physically push the words away. "i can't forgive you," you said, the words tumbling out, a harsh truth. "i don't know if i ever can." suhyeok's face fell, his eyes dropping to the floor, as if the weight of your words was crushing him. "look its..," he whispered, but you cut him off. "stop talking," you said, your voice rising, a hint of anger creeping in. "just stop. i don't want to hear it." the silence that followed was oppressive, a heavy blanket that suffocated the room, leaving only the echoes of your words, a stark reminder of the chasm between you.
as you and suhyeok stood there, locked in a tense moment, neither of you noticed namra staring by the doorway, watching you both with an intent gaze. she was a silent witness to the emotional exchange, her expression unreadable. you and suhyeok were too caught up in your own emotions to notice her looking there, frozen in silence.
onjo appeared beside you, her gentle smile a stark contrast to the tension that had filled the room just moments before. she held out the camcorder, its lens still warm from onjo’s earlier confession. "here," she said softly, her eyes locked on yours. "i think it's your turn." her voice was a gentle invitation, a nod to the unspoken understanding that each of you had a story to tell, a truth to reveal. the camcorder seemed to hover in mid-air, a symbol of the trust and vulnerability that had been shared among you. you felt a sense of trepidation, a hesitation to bare your soul, but onjo's gentle smile reassured you, encouraged you to take the next step. the camera seemed to wait, patiently, for your story, your truth.
you sat next to the open window, the warm sunlight spilling in, casting a gentle glow on the room. the camcorder felt heavy in your hands, its weight a reminder of the responsibility that came with sharing your truth. you fiddled with the camera, your mind racing with thoughts of what to say, or if you should say anything at all. the silence was oppressive, a physical presence that pressed upon your skin, making your heart feel heavy. you looked out the window, watching as the sunlight danced through the leaves of the trees, wondering if you had the courage to reveal your own story. the others had shared their truths, their confessions, their regrets...but could you do the same? the camera seemed to stare back at you, its lens a constant reminder that this was your moment, your chance to speak. but the words wouldn't come, and you were left sitting there, frozen in uncertainty.
you took a deep breath, your finger hovering over the record button. you glanced around the room, ensuring no one was watching, before pressing the button and holding the camera up to your face. your voice was barely above a whisper as you began to speak. "hello, to whoever finds this. you may not know me, my name is..." you paused, a slight hesitation before continuing. "y/n l/n." the words felt strange on your lips, a formal introduction to an unknown audience. you took another deep breath, your eyes drifting out the window as you continued. "i'm not sure where to start, or what to say. i'm not even sure why i'm doing this." the camera's lens seemed to bore into your soul, as if urging you to reveal more. you hesitated, your thoughts racing, before finding the courage to continue. "i guess i just want to leave something behind, something true." the words felt fragile, vulnerable, but you pressed on, the camera's gentle hum a reminder that you were sharing your story, your truth.
your voice remained soft, but a hint of vulnerability crept in as you continued. "i'm the son of a mother who suddenly vanished..who couldn't bare to live the life that she had. i barely have any memories of her." the words felt like a confession, a revelation of a pain you'd long carried. "i remember pieces of her...a smile, a laugh, a warm embrace...but they're fading, like a dream i can't hold onto." you paused, collecting your thoughts before speaking again. "and i'm the son of a father who was consumed by debt...who thought staying down was needed to survive." a hint of bitterness seeped into your tone, a resentment towards the circumstances that had shaped your life. "he just let it happen, let them take everything from us." your eyes dropped, as if the weight of those memories was too much to bear. "i grew up with nothing...no stability, no security...just a constant sense of uncertainty." the camera's lens seemed to hold your gaze, as if urging you to confront the pain head-on. you took a deep breath, the words still flowing, like a river finally undammed.
your voice cracked slightly as you continued, the memories still raw. "i was a victim of bullies...relentless, merciless...they saw my weakness and pounced." your eyes flashed with a hint of defiance. "but i fought back...many times...i refused to stay a victim." despite the bravado, your tone betrayed a hint of sadness. "but it didn't matter...i was still an outcast...still alone." the words hung in the air, a poignant reminder of the pain and isolation you'd endured. "i tried to fit in...to be like them...but i couldn't...i wouldn't." your gaze dropped, as if the shame of those memories still lingered. "i was a ghost in my own life...invisible, insignificant...." the camera's lens seemed to hold your gaze, a silent witness to the anguish you'd faced. you took a deep breath, the words still flowing, a cathartic release of the pain and hurt.
"no one will help you but yourself," you said, a fierce determination etched in your voice. "i'm the only one who showed up for me every single day that i woke up...i was there for me when i felt like this life was no longer worth living." your eyes shone with a quiet strength. "i was my own savior, my own caretaker...i learned to love myself, even when the ones i wanted couldn't." a hint of sorrow lingered, but it was tempered by a sense of triumph. "i learned to fight for myself, to the very end...to hold on to hope, even when it seemed like a distant dream." your gaze locked onto the camera, a fierce intensity burning within. "i am my own hero, my own refuge...i will not wait for someone else to save me, because i know that i am enough." the words hung in the air, a powerful declaration of self-love and resilience. "i will fight for myself, every day...and i will love myself, even if it's the only love i ever know."
a single tear fell, rolling down your cheek as you spoke, your voice trembling with emotion. "i will never be a victim again," you whispered, the words a solemn vow. "even before this outbreak, i was a survivor..” you trail off, “and i will continue to be for the ones that couldn't be.” you slowly reached out and pressed the stop button on the camera, the recording coming to an end. your gaze lingered on the device for a moment, as if ensuring the words were truly captured. then, with a solemn expression, you turned away from the camera and looked out the window. the sunlight streaming in seemed to fade into the background as your eyes drifted off, lost in thought. your face reflected a mix of emotions - determination, sadness, and a hint of hope.
you felt a gentle touch on your shoulder, a soft pressure that seemed to convey a sense of understanding. you knew it was namra without looking, recognizing the thin, long fingers that rested on your shoulder. you didn't turn to face her, instead, you simply raised the camera, offering it to her. the hand on your shoulder hesitated for a moment before namra slowly took the camera from you. her fingers brushed against yours, a fleeting touch that seemed to convey a sense of solidarity. without a word, namra turned and walked back to her chair by the classroom doors, the camera clutched in her hand. you watched her go, still gazing out the window, lost in thought. the silence between you was palpable, yet somehow, it felt less heavy, as if sharing your story had created a sense of connection, a sense of understanding. namra's presence seemed to linger, even as she returned to her seat, a quiet witness to the emotions that still swirled within you.
suhyeok's gaze lingered on your tired figure, his eyes filled with concern. he seemed to debate whether to walk over to you again, to offer some semblance of comfort. he couldn't hear anything you said to the camera which made him curious. but before he could make a move, namra's sudden action caught his attention. she quickly walked towards the long red curtains that kept out the zombies, her movements swift and purposeful. suhyeok's curiosity got the better of him, and he followed her, his footsteps quiet on the floor. as he approached, namra turned to him, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and urgency. "i can hear something," she whispered, her voice barely audible. suhyeok's brow furrowed, his head cocked to the side as he listened intently.
the others quickly got up from their seats, their faces filled with concern, and walked towards namra, who stood frozen by the curtains. onjo approached you, her brow furrowed with worry, and asked, "are you okay?" her voice broke through your reverie, and you turned to her, still trying to process what was happening. you stood up, your movements slow, and followed the others towards namra. as you approached, namra turned to the group, her eyes wide with alarm.
"i think i hear someone...puking," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. the group exchanged uneasy glances, their faces filled with a mix of fear and confusion. suhyeok took a step forward, his hand on the curtain, as if ready to pull it back. "what do you mean?" he asked, his voice low and cautious. namra's grip on the curtain tightened. "i don't know, it sounds like...retching, gagging..." the group fell silent, their ears straining to pick up the sound. but nothing occured.
namra's eyes darted around the room, her gaze sweeping across the space as if searching for something. her expression was tense, her brow furrowed in concern. "guys, i think we should leave," she said suddenly, her voice low and urgent. "this room feels...weird." she hesitated, as if trying to find the right words.
cheongsan halted, his hand on the door handle, and turned to face the group. "we can't just leave," he said, his voice firm. "we need to figure out what's going on." daesu groaned, throwing up his hands. "this is all because we didn't head to the roof when we had the chance...when the music was playing." onjo's eyes lit up with a sudden idea. "we do have music," she said, a sly smile spreading across her face. she turned to namra, who still clutched the camcorder. "namra, can you play back the recording?" namra looked confused, but onjo continued, her excitement growing. "we can use the music to lure them in...build a tall barricade and funnel them into a trap." the group stared at her, unsure of what to make of her plan.
onjo's voice was filled with determination as she outlined her plan. "once all of them come in through these doors," she said, pointing to the left doors, "we can make a run for the backdoors and head to the roof." her eyes locked onto yours, her gaze intense. "every infected person will be in the room on this floor...we have to make it to the roof once theyre all in." she paused, her chest heaving with excitement. "we can do it." you nodded, a surge of adrenaline coursing through your veins. the plan was risky, but it was their best chance of escape. suhyeok and daesu nodded in agreement, their faces set with determination. namra and cheongsan exchanged a nervous glance, but they too nodded, ready to put their trust in onjo's plan. with a deep breath, the group steeled themselves for what was to come. they knew it wouldn't be easy, but they were ready to fight for their survival.
with a sense of purpose, the group sprang into action, beginning to set up the barricade. suhyeok and daesu started dragging heavy tables and chairs towards the left doors, their faces straining with effort. namra and cheongsan worked together, piling up stacks of books and furniture to reinforce the barricade. onjo directed the operation, her eyes darting back and forth to ensure everything was in place. you joined in, helping to secure the barricade with ropes and weights. as you worked, the retching sounds grew louder, more insistent, and the group's sense of urgency increased. they knew they had to be ready before the infected broke through the doors. sweat dripped down your faces, and muscles ached, but no one complained. they were driven by a shared determination to survive. finally, the barricade was in place, a sturdy wall of furniture and debris blocking the left doors. onjo stepped back, her eyes scanning the barricade, a nod of satisfaction on her face. "it's ready," she said, her voice firm. "let's get into position." the group moved to the backdoors, their hearts racing with anticipation. they knew what was coming.
cheongsan volunteered to stay behind, his voice firm. "someone has to open the door on the other side to let them in." suhyeok hesitated for a moment before jumping back over to join him. "i'll go with you," he said, his eyes locked on cheongsan's. the two of them positioned themselves by the barricade, ready to open the doors and lure the zombies in.
meanwhile, you and horyeong worked together to secure the chairs with rope, your hands moving in tandem. "you're brave," horyeong said suddenly, her voice soft. your gaze dropped down to hers, your eyes questioning. "what did you say?" you asked, your voice low. horyeong's face flushed pink as she looked up at you, her eyes shining with sincerity. "you're brave...and i hope you know that." she finished tying the knot, her hands moving quickly. you blinked, your ears heating up with shock, as you processed her words. no one had ever called you brave before. you didn't know how to respond, your mind racing. “um, well-i-yeah-.. im..” you stammer. she only looks at you and laughs, “you're welcome.”
meanwhile, cheongsan and suhyeok were engaged in a hushed conversation, their voices barely audible over the creaking of the barricade. cheongsan's eyes narrowed, his expression puzzled. "what did you just say?" he asked, his tone laced with curiosity. suhyeok's response was a low, throaty laugh, his eyes glinting with amusement. "i said i like someone else," he repeated, his smirk growing wider. "you don't need to worry about me and onjo. so treat her right, and not like a guy, moron." cheongsan's stare intensified, his gaze boring into suhyeok's. "who is it?" he pressed, his voice low and urgent. suhyeok's hesitated, his eyes darting towards you before snapping back to cheongsan. the same fear that had gripped him when myungwhan's arm had wrapped around his shoulders, while you were being assaulted, threatened to overwhelm him. he couldn't bring himself to say it, his voice caught in his throat. instead, he looked back at you, his gaze lingering on the glimpses of you he could see through the cracks between the chairs. "i'll tell you later," suhyeok said finally, his smile strained, his eyes betraying a mix of emotions.
suhyeok playfully elbowed cheongsan, gesturing for him to get back behind the barricade. "go, go!" he whispered urgently. cheongsan nodded and scurried back to safety. suhyeok took a deep breath, grasped the door handle, and slid it open. he didn't hesitate, dashing forward and using the wall to propel himself back behind the barricade. the zombies tumbled into the room, their feet tangling in the chairs set on the ground, causing them to trip and stumble. joonyeong, positioned by the camcorder, grinned mischievously as he pressed play. the loud music blared to life, echoing off the walls and drawing in more zombies. they shambled towards the sound, their moans growing louder, more insistent. the group held their breath as the zombies poured into the room, their numbers swelling. the barricade creaked and groaned under the pressure, but held firm. suhyeok landed hard on the floor, his chest heaving, and grinned at cheongsan. "that was close," he whispered. cheongsan nodded, his eyes fixed on the horde beyond the barricade. "too close."
the group strained against the barricade, their muscles trembling with effort, as the zombies pushed and clawed at the makeshift barrier. joonyeong, meanwhile, continued to turn up the volume, the music growing louder and more intense, drawing even more zombies into the room. onjo darted between the windows, peeking through the curtains to check the hallways. each time, she shook her head, her expression grim. "still too many out there," she whispered to suhyeok, who nodded curtly, his eyes fixed on the barricade. cheongsan, you, and daesu were pressed against the barrier, their faces set in determined lines, as they struggled to hold it in place. namra and horyeong were positioned at the edges, their eyes scanning the room for any signs of weakness. the zombies continued to pour in, their numbers seemingly endless, as the music reached a deafening crescendo. the barricade creaked and groaned, threatening to collapse at any moment, but the group held firm, their lives depending on it. onjo checked the windows again, her heart sinking as she saw the hallway was still filled with zombies. "we can't stay here," she whispered urgently. "we need to be louder, daesu!"
daesu's face turned red with rage as he shouted at the top of his lungs, "die zombies, fucking die!" his voice echoed off the walls, drowning out the music for a moment. the zombies, already frenzied, became even more agitated, their moans growing louder, more urgent. they pressed against the barricade with renewed strength, causing it to slide further towards daesu's side of the room. the group stumbled backward, their feet scraping against the floor as they struggled to maintain their position. the barricade creaked ominously, its stability precarious. "daesu, again!" onjo yelled, her voice panicked. "one more time!" daesu continued to shout, his voice hoarse, his eyes blazing with fury. the zombies kept coming, their numbers seemingly endless, as the barricade shrank, trapping the group in an increasingly smaller space.
the others, not holding the barricade, grabbed whatever instruments they could find - guitars, drums, maracas - and began playing them with reckless abandon. the loud sounds were ear-piercing, a chaotic mix of clashing notes and rhythms that grated on the nerves. namra was banging away on a drum set, her face contorted in a mixture of fear and determination. hroryeong was strumming a guitar with wild, slashing motions, the strings squealing in protest. joonyeong was shaking a pair of maracas with a frenzied intensity, the beads rattling out a maddening beat. the music was a far cry from the harmonious melodies they had played earlier, now it was a jarring, discordant noise designed to attract every zombie within earshot. and it worked. more and more zombies stumbled into the room, drawn by the cacophony, their eyes fixed on the group with a hungry gleam. the barricade creaked and groaned, the group's position becoming increasingly precarious. but they didn't stop playing, their faces set in grim determination, as they fought to survive.
your arm began to ache, a burning sensation spreading from your shoulder to your wrist, as you strained against the barricade. you gritted your teeth, pouring all your strength into holding it back. the zombies pushed and clawed, their relentless pressure threatening to overwhelm you. sweat dripped from your brow, stinging your eyes, as you dug deep, finding reserves of strength you didn't know you had. your legs trembled, your back screamed in protest, but you refused to yield. the barricade creaked, groaned, and shuddered, but you held firm, your arm a rigid bar of muscle and bone. the others played on, their music a wild, savage counterpoint to the zombies' moans, as they fought to keep the horde at bay. but you knew it couldn't last. the barricade was weakening, the zombies too numerous, too strong. you felt it slipping, inch by inch, the weight crushing down on you like a physical force. your vision blurred, your breath came in ragged gasps, but still you pushed, your arm screaming in agony, as the barricade teetered on the brink of collapse.
cheongsan's voice cut through the din, "wujin, now! we need to go, now!" but wujin, still gazing out the window, shook his head, his expression grim. "we can't go yet! not yet!" he shouted back, his voice laced with urgency. cheongsan's eyes widened in alarm, "what do you mean? we can't hold this much longer!" wujin's gaze remained fixed on something outside, his jaw clenched. "there's too many out there...we'll never make it...just a little longer, please!" the barricade shuddered, the zombies' pressure intensifying, as if sensing their prey's desperation. the group's cries of exertion grew louder, their faces contorted in effort, as they fought to maintain their position. suhyeok's eyes darted to wujin, then back to the barricade, his mind racing with the implications. "what's out there, wujin? what are you seeing?" but wujin just shook his head, his voice barely audible over the chaos. "just...hold...on..."
"it's gonna fall!" you shouted, your voice hoarse from exertion, as the barricade creaked ominously. you winced in pain, your shoulder aching despite using the other one to push. the strain was taking its toll on your body, but you refused to yield. everyone was fighting, pushing, and shoving, desperate to keep the zombies at bay. in the midst of the chaos, your gaze met suhyeok's, and for a fleeting moment, you locked eyes. it was as if time stood still, and all that existed was the two of you, connected in a shared struggle for survival. the eye contact seemed to inject new energy into your weary muscles, and you pushed harder, fueled by a renewed sense of determination. suhyeok's expression mirrored yours, his eyes burning with a fierce resolve. together, you fought on, your movements synchronized, as if driven by a single heartbeat. the barricade groaned, the zombies clawed, but you stood firm, united in your defiance. in that instant, you knew you could face anything, as long as you had each other.
"clear! we have to go now!" wujin yelled, his voice piercing the chaos, as he slid open the door to reveal an empty hallway. the sudden reprieve sparked a frantic scramble for escape. one by one, the group members abandoned their stations and sprinted towards the door. you glanced at daesu, who gestured urgently, "go already!" you nodded and took off, your heart racing, as you dashed towards the door. looking back, you saw cheongsan hesitating, then turning to run back to daesu. he grabbed daesu's arm, pulling him along, as they both sprinted towards the door. they were the last two to leave, and as they reached the threshold, the barricade behind them gave a final, ominous creak before collapsing under the crushing weight of the infected horde. the sound of shattering wood and screams filled the air, but you didn't look back. you kept running, your eyes fixed on wujin, who was leading the group down the hallway, their footsteps echoing off the walls. you knew you had to keep moving, to find a safe haven before the zombies overwhelmed you once more.
you ran side by side with joonyeong, your feet pounding the floor in unison, as you both stayed tucked in the middle of the group. the girls - namra, horyeong, jimin and onjo - flanked you, their faces set in determined lines, their breathing ragged. wujin and cheongsan led the charge, their long strides eating up the distance, as they navigated the twisting hallways. daesu and suhyeok brought up the rear, their eyes scanning the surroundings, ready to defend against any stragglers. you heaved, your lungs burning, as you struggled to keep pace. the group's formation was tight, a cohesive unit, as you all fought to escape the zombie-infested school. the hallways blurred together, a never-ending maze, but wujin's lead kept you moving forward. sudden turns and sharp corners made your stomach lurch, but joonyeong's presence beside you was a steady comfort. you glanced over, meeting his gaze, and saw a flicker of fear, quickly replaced by a determined glint. you nodded, and he nodded back, your bond forged in the heat of survival.
you all thundered up the first staircase you saw, your footsteps echoing off the walls. wujin led the charge, his eyes fixed on the top, as you ascended higher and higher. at each landing, you turned right, following a zigzagging path through the school's upper floors. your one-armed gait made balance a constant struggle, but joonyeong stayed glued to your side, offering a steadying hand whenever you stumbled. his support was a lifeline, helping you navigate the treacherous stairs without falling behind. the others pushed on, their breathing growing more labored with each floor. daesu and suhyeok still brought up the rear, their eyes scanning the stairs below, ready to defend against any zombies that might appear. as you climbed, the sounds of chaos and destruction grew fainter, replaced by the creaking of the old school's wooden framework and the group's ragged gasps. finally, you reached the top floor, the stairs ending at a door marked "roof access".
the door to the roof access loomed before you, its metal surface gleaming in the dim light. wujin grasped the handle, pushing and pulling with all his might, but it wouldn't budge. cheongsan joined him, their combined strength straining against the unyielding door. but it remained stubbornly shut, the lock unyielding. the group's collective anxiety grew, their impatient whispers and shifting feet echoing through the corridor. "come on, come on!" daesu urged, his voice low and urgent. "we can't stay here!" suhyeok added, his eyes scanning the stairs below, as if expecting a zombie horde to appear at any moment. joonyeong stayed close to you, her hand on your arm, her gaze fixed on the door. "what's wrong?" namra asked, her voice trembling. "why won't it open?" wujin stepped back, his face grimy with sweat, and examined the lock.
daesu, frustration etched on his face, growled, "move!" and positioned himself before the door. he took a few steps back, then launched himself at the door, shoulder first. the impact was loud, but the door held firm, barely budging. daesu recoiled, wincing in pain, his shoulder likely bruised. cheongsan, meanwhile, had moved to the side, where a keypad was mounted. he studied it for a moment, then began entering a password. the keypad beeped, and a flashing red light signaled "incorrect". cheongsan's face contorted in anger, he punched the keypad with a curse, "come on, shit!" the group's anxiety spiked, their eyes darting between the door, the keypad, and the stairs below, where the zombies could appear at any moment. "try again!" wujin urged, his voice low and urgent. cheongsan's fingers flew across the keypad, entering another sequence. the beep sounded once more, followed by the same flashing red light. "no, no, no!" cheongsan shouted, his fist clenched in frustration. hroryeong’s grip on your arm tightened, her eyes wide with fear. "what if we can't get out?" she whispered.
joonyeong pushed daesu aside and began pounding on the door, his fists making loud thuds. "is anyone there? anyone?" he shouted, his voice hoarse from screaming. he banged the door again, desperation etched on his face. you remembered the hammer in your pocket, the one you'd saved from the music room. "joonyeong!" you called out, tossing him the hammer. he caught it mid-air, his eyes flashing with determination. she began hammering the metal door handles, trying to break them off. the clangs echoed through the corridor, accompanied by joonyeong's grunts of effort. you glanced down the staircase, still seeing no signs of zombies. but you knew that could change any moment.
namra's eyes locked onto yours, her expression grim. "they're coming, a bunch of them," she whispered, her head cocked to the side, as if listening to a distant sound. you strained your ears, but heard nothing. yet, you trusted namra's instincts over your own. you hurried to cheongsan, who was still trying to hack the keypad. "cheongsan, namra says a horde is coming," you warned him.
he nodded curtly, not looking up, and motioned to suhyeok. the two of them positioned themselves at the top of the staircase, eyes fixed on the floor below, waiting for any zombies to emerge. meanwhile, joonyeong continued to hammer at the door handles, but soon groaned, his hand hurting from the reverberation. wujin took over, his face set in determination, and continued to strike the same handle. slowly but surely, it began to loosen, the metal creaking in protest. a faint crack appeared in the door, and you knew they were making progress. the sound of wujin's hammering echoed through the corridor, a rhythmic clang that seemed to match the pounding of your heart. suddenly, suhyeok's voice cut through the din, "wait, do you hear that?" he whispered, his eyes fixed on the staircase below.
the sound of zombies crawling and tripping up the staircase grew louder, their moans and snarls filling the air. suhyeok and cheongsan stood firm, using a thick wooden art placer and a metal tripod to push back against the horde. the wooden placard cracked and splintered, but held firm, as they desperately tried to hold off the zombies. "fuck, it's not opening?" you cursed, glancing back at wujin, who shook his head, his face grim. the hammering had stopped, and the crack in the door seemed to have reached a plateau. panic began to set in, as the reality of your situation sank in. you were trapped, with no clear escape route. the zombies would soon overwhelm suhyeok and cheongsan, and then you'd all be doomed. jimin’s eyes met yours, wide with fear, as she whispered, "what do we do?" namra's voice trembled, "we can't stay here..." horyeong and onjo clung to each other, their faces pale. the group's cohesion began to fray, as desperation took hold. wujin's gaze darted around, searching for an alternative, but there was none. you were running out of time, and options.
namra tapped you on the shoulder, her eyes locked on yours, and pointed to a huge blue tarp next to her. you quickly grabbed it, understanding her plan. "everyone, help!" namra shouted, as she began to unfold the tarp. "we need to cover the balcony, block the zombies from coming up!" the group sprang into action, grabbing the tarp's edges and rushing to the balcony. you heaved the tarp over the railing, and the others helped to spread it out, covering the stairs below. the zombies, undeterred, continued to climb, but the tarp blocked their ascent, trapping them below. the group breathed a collective sigh of relief, but knew it was only a temporary solution. the tarp wouldn't hold forever, and you still needed to find a way out. wujin turned back to the door, hammer in hand, and resumed his efforts to break through. joonyeong joined him, and together they hammered away, trying to widen the crack. suhyeok and cheongsan stood guard, ready to defend against any zombies that might breach the tarp. you looked around, assessing your situation, and knew you had to keep moving. the roof was still your best bet, but you needed to get through that door.
just as you thought the tarp would hold, a figure emerged from behind it. gwinam, his eye bloody and swollen, walked calmly past the zombies, who didn't even flinch in his presence. his gaze was fixed on the group, and his expression sent shivers down your spine. it was almost...evil. the group exchanged nervous glances, unsure what to make of gwinam's sudden appearance.
gwinam's evil smile fixed on cheongsan, who stood frozen, tripod still clutched in his hand. cheongsan, trying to protect himself, swung the tripod at gwinam, but it was like hitting a brick wall. gwinam didn't flinch, didn't even acknowledge the blow. your mind racing, memories of gwinam's torture in school came flooding back. you were that terrified kid again, unable to move or escape. onjo's shout broke the spell, "keep holding the tarp!" you snapped back to reality, but your body trembled with fear. gwinam's grip on cheongsan tightened, his smile growing wider. "give me your eye, yeah?" his words made your blood run cold. namra, however, sprang into action. with a strength that belied her slender frame, she grabbed gwinam by the throat, holding him over the ledge. gwinam's eyes widened in surprise, his grip on cheongsan faltering. namra's gaze burned with intensity as she gritted out, "why don't you just die?" and with a swift motion, she threw gwinam down the staircase. the tarp, still clutched by the group, was dragged down with him, leaving you all exposed once more. the zombies, now free to climb, began to pour up the stairs, their moans growing louder.
onjo's yell cut through the chaos, "we got the door open! come on!" the group sprinted towards the doorway, desperate for escape. as you emerged into the bright sunlight, you felt a sense of hope. but, you didn't forget your friends still fighting off zombies. you turned back, seeing suhyeok and cheongsan struggling to hold off the horde. "guys, come on!" you shouted, rushing back to help. you grabbed cheongsan's arm, pushing him towards the door. "go, go, go!" suhyeok followed close behind, zombies mere steps behind. wujin and joonyeong helped pull them to safety, as namra and hroryeong stood guard, ready to defend against any stragglers. finally, everyone was through the doorway, gasping for breath. you looked around, taking in the rooftop's expanse. the sun shone brightly overhead, a welcome change from the darkness below. but, you knew the zombies could still follow. you needed a new plan, and fast. "we need to find a way down," wujin said, echoing your thoughts. "or a way to block the door," suhyeok added, still catching his breath. the group began to brainstorm, desperate to survive.
the door creaked and groaned, but suhyeok and cheongsan held firm, their faces strained with effort. you gazed up at the helicopter, its rotors whipping the air into a frenzy. the wind stung your eyes, making it hard to keep them open. but then, you saw him. cheolsu, the one person you forgot about. he sat in the helicopter, looking down at you with a mixture of guilt and relief. your mind reeled as you whispered, "what...?" cheolsu's eyes met yours for a brief moment, before he looked away, closing his eyes in comfort. the betrayal cut deep, a second knife to the back. you felt like you'd been punched in the gut, all the air sucked out of you. how could he? why was he there, safe and sound, while you fought for your life? the questions swirled, but the answers remained elusive. the helicopter began to lift off, leaving you and your friends to fend for yourselves. you watched, numb, as cheolsu disappeared into the distance, leaving you to face the undead hordes alone.
suhyeok sprinted alongside the helicopter, waving their arms and yelling, but it was too late. the helicopter vanished into the distance, leaving you all behind. you took suhyeok's spot, holding the door with cheongsan, feeling the undead pounding against it. for a moment, you thought. then, you remembered the wires in your pocket. "wait," you said, digging into your pocket and producing the wires. you handed them to cheongsan, who quickly got to work. he tied the wires to the door knobs, securing them with a sturdy knot. "okay!" he exclaimed, slowly lifting his weight off the door. you did the same, and to your relief, the door held firm. the zombies on the other side continued to pound and moan, but the makeshift barricade kept them at bay. for now, you were safe. cheongsan let out a sigh of relief, and you shared a nod of triumph. but, you knew it was only temporary. you needed a new plan, and fast. the group gathered around, looking at you for guidance. "what's next?" wujin asked, his eyes scanning the rooftop. you took a deep breath, thinking. the city stretched out before you, a vast expanse of unknown dangers. but, you had to keep moving. "we need to find another way down," you said, "and fast."
the helicopter vanished into the distance, leaving you all behind. hroryeong's sobs echoed through the rooftop, a heartbreaking sound. cheongsan, exhausted, collapsed to the ground, his chest heaving. you knelt beside him, concern etched on your face. "hey, it's okay. take deep breaths," you said, patting his legs to prevent cramping. cheongsan nodded, still panting, as you sat beside him. you took a moment to catch your own breath, feeling the weight of your situation. all you wanted was to go home, to shower, to sleep in your own bed. but that was a luxury you couldn't afford. not now, not yet. you were stuck on this rooftop, trapped with your peers, surrounded by the undead. the reality was crushing.
but for now, you just sat, trying to gather your strength, trying to process everything that had happened. the silence was broken only by hroryeong's sobs and cheongsan's heavy breathing.
you and cheongsan exchanged a nervous glance as the door began banging hard, the sound echoing across the rooftop. you knew it was gwinam, trying to get in. the metal doors shuddered under the impact, but held firm. for now. everyone gathered around, watching in silence as the door continued to shake. one burst, two, three... but after the fourth, the banging stopped. an unsettling quiet fell over the rooftop. you waited, expecting another burst, but nothing came. the silence was oppressive, heavy with tension. "what's going on?" wujin whispered, eyes fixed on the door. "is he...?" joonyeong trailed off, his voice barely audible.
you shook your head, unsure. cheongsan slowly got to his feet, his eyes locked on the door. "i don't know, but we need to be ready." suhyeok nodded, positioning themselves beside cheongsan. the group formed a semi-circle around the door, waiting, watching. the quiet stretched out, punctuated only by horyeong's sniffling. you held your breath, bracing for what might come next.
namra's voice broke the silence, her words barely above a whisper. "he's gone." suhyeok turned to her, confusion etched on their face. "who's gone?" but namra's gaze was fixed intently on the door, her head cocked to one side, as if listening for something. "gwinam," she said, her voice firm, confirming what everyone was thinking. the group exchanged nervous glances, unsure what to make of namra's declaration. cheongsan took a step forward, his eyes locked on the door. "are you sure?" he asked, his voice low. namra nodded, her eyes still fixed on the door. "yes, i'm sure. he's not trying to get in anymore." the silence that followed was oppressive, heavy with uncertainty. what did it mean? had gwinam given up? or was he planning something else? you couldn't shake the feeling that you were all just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Sweet Idiocy
Choi Namra (All Of Us Are Dead) X Male!Reader
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Namra likes you, and has for years, but you're too much of a idiot to realize. When zombies take over the school, she finally builds up the courage to tell you.
Warnings: Language, Canon-typical violence
Word Count: 2.7k
Tumblr media Tumblr media
School was supposed to be fun, right? Or at least tolerable. But for you, it was the opposite. You hated school, despised it even, but not because of learning or the teachers, but instead the kids that you were with everyday.
Especially the class president of your class, Choi Namra.
You sat at the cafeteria beside Suhyeok, Cheongsan, and Gyeongsu who were talking to one another while you ate the food silently.
“Y/n? Hello? Y/n?”
You were shaken out of your thoughts when Gyeongsu snapped his fingers in front of you and you looked at him, seeing the other two have the same look of confusion on their face. “What?” You said.
“You were totally spaced out. Is something wrong?” Suhyeok responded to you.
“No, I’m fine. Just thinking about shit.” You answered his question, finishing your food and setting your utensils down.
Gyeongsu leaned forward across the table with a teasing smile on his face, “About what? You like a girl or something?”
You rolled your eyes at his words, “No, I don't like a girl or something.” You lied through your teeth. Truth is, you did like a girl, but you didn't tell anyone about it yet knowing how dumb it would sound when everyone knew who she was.
“Then what are you thinking about?” Cheongsan asked.
“Why it seems like our class president hates me.” You answered with a shrug.
All three boys looked at you with mixtures of shock and confusion present on their faces.
“Doesn't she hate everyone?”
“She talks to you?”
“Do you like her or something?”
You grabbed your chopsticks and threw them at Gyeongsu at what he said, causing him to let out a yelp. “So you do!”
A groan escaped from your lips as your head hit the lunch table, “I don't.” You told him.
“Sure~” Gyeongsu teased you.
“Shut up, idiot.” You spat at him before getting up and grabbing your tray, “I have to go study, I’ll see you guys later.” You told them as you then started to walk to the front of the cafeteria to put your tray away.
After that, you made your way out of the cafeteria and went to go on the bridge that connected two of the buildings together when you saw Namra walking while reading. Before you could fully think through about what you were going to even say, you walked up to her and tapped her shoulder, making her look at you. “You know those earphones are bad for when there’s an emergency, right?” You said to her.
She took out one of the two earphones and looked at you for a second before saying, “What?”
“Those things are bad for emergencies.” You repeated with a small smile on your face.
“I know.” She replied and then proceeded to put the earphone back in and walk away again.
You let out a sigh as she walked away, “Great job, me.” You muttered to yourself.
Not only but a few minutes later, you heard screaming from the building you were on your way to, making you stop in your tracks. Then, students started running out from the building and sprinting across the bridge to get to the other side, making you realize something bad was actually happening. You quickly started to run back over to Namra who had no idea anything was happening as others were still running away and pushing into you while trying to get away from whatever it was that was coming after them. You rushed over to the girl and grabbed her hand, your eyes going wide when you saw a student start running at you two with blood on their clothes and mouth, “Come on!” You said to her before turning around and starting to run back with Namra quickly following behind you.
You continued to run with the growling student hot on your trail as you two eventually made it off the bridge and back onto the grounds outside the buildings. Your eyes darted around and what you ended up seeing terrified you. Students running with blood covering their clothes from their friends who were trying to bite them, windows breaking from the floors above you in the main building, and people falling out of them, it was all chaos. You kept dragging Namra along with you when you found a set of doors, you went to open them but two students ran up to the glass and hit it, trying to get past with blood surrounding their mouths and eyes blood red. “Shit.” You cursed aloud, turning around and beginning to run again.
Everywhere you two ran there was another reason to change directions and try to find another safe place, that was until you two stopped in front of the main building and saw the gardener on a ladder before falling off and starting to get eaten. Before you even could think about it, you started running again towards it, you placed it back in place and in front of an open window and looked at Namra, “Hurry and climb up.”
The girl nodded and quickly made her way up the ladder and was able to climb into the room with the help of the other students in the English class you all shared. You heard footsteps running behind you and you turned your head only to see the gardener sprinting to you at full speed making you hurriedly climb up the ladder when you saw Cheongsan and Suhyeok who helped pull you inside when the ladder fell from your feet.
You landed on the ground with a thud and were panting from all the running you had just done. “Were those...zombies?”
“Totally. It's like Train To Busan.” Cheongsan said with a nod.
“Jesus fucking christ.” You sighed, rubbing your hands on your face.
After a few seconds of you catching your breath, you sat up and looked around to see who you were stuck with for the time being. Thankfully, you knew everyone there, but that was also a bad thing in a zombie apocalypse obviously. You eventually got back up on your feet and made your way over to Namra who was standing alone, “Hey, are you okay?”
Namra looked up at you and nodded, “I’m fine.” She told you. It was quiet for a minute before she spoke up again, “Thank you, by the way.” She said in a quieter voice that even you could barely hear despite being right in front of her.
“What?” You said, clearly confused as to if you really heard what she said correctly. You had never heard the girl thank anyone for anything before, and everyone else knew that as well. So you didn’t really believe that you actually heard her say that.
“For helping me get here.” She continued on without actually replying to what you had just said. “I know no one else would probably do that.”
Now you were just shocked. She was actually saying this? To you? Does that mean she actually ever hated you? Or were you just overthinking it? There were too many questions wandering around through your head at once that you couldn’t even respond to what she was saying, instead you just stared at her in disbelief.
“Are you going to say something or are you just going to stand there like a fucking idiot?” Namra snapped her fingers in front of your face causing you to snap out of your thoughts.
“Sorry, sorry.” You said, shaking your head. “I just didn’t expect you to say that, sorry.”
She rolled her eyes and sighed before speaking again, “I know. The class president thanking someone, what a surprise.” She said in a sarcastic tone.
You shook your head again, “That’s not what I meant. I’m just confused as to why you’re telling that to me of all people.”
It was at this point that she realized how much of an idiot you were because she just gave one of the biggest hints she could probably give and you still didn’t understand. How? Who the fuck knows. Now, what was she supposed to say because you didn’t get it? Well, she had no clue and was now put on the spot. “You’re the one that dragged me away from a zombie, remember? And helping me get inside?” She decided to keep pushing it to see if you would hopefully understand.
“Yeah, but if Suhyeok and Cheongsan weren’t in here, you wouldn’t have been able to get in, right?” You responded with a confused look on your face as to why she was pinpointing you specifically.
“Just forget it.” Namra sighed, shaking her head and walking away from you.
After she walked away, Suhyeok came up to you with a confused look on his face, “What was that about?”
You shrugged, shaking your head at the same time, “I don’t know. She was thanking me for helping her I guess? I don’t understand why, though,” Suhyeok stared at you like you were an idiot, making you now have the look of confusion, “What?” You asked.
“You know no one in our class has ever heard her thank anyone, right?” He said to you.
“Obviously I know that.” You rolled your eyes at him, not seeing why he was asking you that.
Suhyeok then sighed, shaking his head, “So do you have any reason why she would be saying that to you? For the first time?”
“Does no one listen to me? I said I don’t understand and everyone treats me like an idiot. I just want to survive, okay? Fuck the other shit, we are in a life or death situation here.” You snapped at him, finally letting out the anger that you’ve been keeping inside since this day had started. You then walked off to the other side of the classroom and sat on the ground with a sigh.
Suhyeok was surprised by your sudden outburst but he stopped after hearing what you said. You were right, there was no time for this kind of stuff when there was currently a zombie outbreak happening at your school. The main thing should be survival, not whatever the fuck was currently going on. You sat alone the whole time, not even looking up when you heard voices talking, not even when you heard the door open and slam shut. When you started to hear yelling and a loud thud, you then looked up and saw coach Kang on the ground before he started to turn into a zombie.
You quickly got up and glanced around with your eyes before spotting Namra and going up to her but not saying anything, instead just standing beside her to actually see what was going on. Coach Kang suddenly shot up and was growling, and was now a zombie, making everyone quickly jump back to try and get out of reach. Without thinking, you gently pulled Namra behind you to make sure she would be okay before Coach Kang leaped forward and bit onto Minji. “Shit.” You said before grabbing a desk and pushing Coach Kang into the wall, “Cheongsan, get over here!” You yelled to your friend as you struggled to keep the zombie against the wall. Cheongsan quickly ran up next to you and grabbed onto two of the legs of the desk, leaving you to grab the other two as you both pushed onto the wall to keep the zombie stuck against the wall and unable to move.
“Hurry the fuck up and get out!” You yelled again to everyone else as Daesu held onto Minji and was keeping her away from biting anyone.
Nayeon was the first one to run out of the classroom before the rest started to flood out, soon leaving only you, Cheongsan, and Daesu inside with the zombies. “Daesu, on three let her go!” You told him and he nodded in response. “1, 2, 3!” Daesu let go of Minji and ran out the door as you and Cheongsan let go of the desk, letting coach Kang fall to the ground as you two quickly sprinted out of the room and closed the door behind you.
You two then started to run down the hall to catch up to the rest when zombies appeared in front of the staircase, causing everyone to stop. You could hardly process what was going on with how fast everything was happening, but a second later you found yourself pushing away the zombies with a door Daesu had somehow gotten off along with the rest of the boys. After a few seconds of pushing the zombies, you all pushed most of them down the stairs as the girls quickly ran up the stairs and to the science classroom.
You started to run up the stairs but stopped when you saw Suhyeok still there, “Suhyeok! Come on!”
“Go! Get to the science classroom! I’ll meet you there!” He yelled at you.
“Shit, man.” You muttered to yourself before running up the rest of the stairs and getting to where everyone else was.
Soon enough, zombies had surrounded everyone on both sides as you helped push them back with the door on one side whilst the other side were using the windows. Eventually, Onjo got the door open and was able to have everyone get inside before you slammed the door shut behind you, zombies piling around the door as soon as it closed.
Once again, you were panting because of how much strength you had just used and ran a hand through your hair that was now all out of place. You made your way to the corner of the classroom near the windows and slid down the wall, looking down at the ground once more. You placed your hands on your face and let out a long sigh, all of this clearly taking a toll on you.
You heard footsteps approaching you, but you didn't move. You heard them stop and someone sit down beside you yet you still didn't move one inch.
“Hey.”
It was Namra. Hearing her voice resulted in you moving your hands and turning your head to look at her. “Hey.” You said.
“Are you okay?” She asked you.
“Shouldn't I be asking you that?” You responded.
She shook her head, “Just answer the question, Y/n.”
You sighed, resting your head on the back of the wall, “No, I’m not okay. I mean, physically I am. Otherwise, no.” You answered her original question.
Namra didn't reply, but you could feel her gaze on you and you didn't know how you felt about it, as this was the first time any kind of conversation like this has happened between you two. You suddenly felt something touch your hand and you looked down, seeing Namra’s hand on top of yours. You felt your face get hot when you processed what was going on and you moved your hand to hold onto hers.
When you looked back at her, you noticed the pink tint on her cheeks and it then finally clicked in your head. “Do you...like me?” You asked quietly.
“Yeah.” Namra nodded, “I can't believe it took you this long to figure it out.” She chuckled lightly, something you'd never heard before.
You were going to respond but instead felt a pair of lips touch yours, making you freak out on the inside. She was kissing you. Choi Namra was kissing you. A split second later, she pulled back and her face was an even brighter red and it made you chuckle. “You look cute like that.” You told her with a smile.
“Shut up.” She tried to ignore what you said but couldn't help the smile slowly pulling at her lips. She then leaned her head on your shoulder, making you tense up and look down at her.
After a few seconds of debating what the hell you were supposed to do, you rested your own head on top of hers, the height difference somehow working in favor perfectly.
“I like you too, Namra.”

Abandonment
Tumblr media
Pairings: Lee Suhyeok x Fem!Reader
Genre: Angst(I think)
Warnings: Swearing, idk
Summary: You and Suhyeok were together for a year, not until a huge argument you both had at the rooftop during a zombie outbreak.
Main Masterlist
AOUAD Masterlist
Tumblr media
I always thought we were gonna last, until marriage. Well, that was just my imagination.
Here he is, standing infront of me with that face. That face that I know, that we were done.
He fell out of love, I confronted him about it, he got mad for being 'jealous' of Cho Namra, and now I'm at fault.
"When will you understand that there is no forever between us!" He yelled, it's been 10 minutes since his yelling. I only looked down, finding my own bloody shoes interesting.
"Then why are we still together?" I whispered, I finally looked up at him as his tensed body stiffened, and his eyes softened at the sight of my glossy eyes.
"I don't know." He said. His eyes held pity. I hated it.
"I'm done with this relationship or whatever the fuck it is. If you're not gonna mention this breakup, then I will." I told him, the only thing he can do now is stare.
Tumblr media
Everyone went quiet after they heard the argument, I stayed away from the group. Suhyeok, who sat beside Namra looked happy.
That burning feeling in my chest is like my own heart wanting to jump out and let him hold it back into his possession even after I just got it back.
I was tired. That was an understatement. I wanted this to end.
I leaned my head against the tall concrete wall, my head was pounding. The shuffling from behind the wall was loud enough for me to hear.
I didn't care if it was a zombie or not, I just wanted to rest.
My eyes snapped open as I felt someone's presence beside me. Only to see Yoon Gwinam, all bloody. Staring at the group of friends.
"You know Y/n, sitting there just beside me is quite dangerous. What would your boyfriend say?" He taunted. I just snickered, he looked down at me.
"Boyfriend my ass, you meant ex boyfriend. I'd rather you bite me or kill me. I don't care. This is the end of the world for me anyways." I sneered, he just stared amused.
"Then I might aswell just take you with me?" He asked, I rolled my eyes.
"Bite my wrist first then I will." I raised my wrist up to his mouth. Suhyeok who was already yelling at me saying no.
I payed no mind to them and just let Gwinam bite me. The pain was unbearable, but I coped.
I hit his head, an indication to let me go. He waited beside me for 18 minutes until it was confirmed, Thay I'm just like him and Namra.
I breathed out. "Goodluck with your stupid journey to survive." I told them, Gwinam who already left, I soon followed.
"By the way, I fucking hate you Lee Suhyeok."
And just like that, I abandoned the group that I was with for 2 days.
